The couple is also expecting a baby soon.
SM Entertainment just confirmed that EXO member Chen is getting married soon, after Chen released a handwritten letter announcing the news on January 13.
The 27-year old K-Pop star and actor with real name Kim Jongdae is reportedly marrying a non-celebrity through a private wedding with their families and close friends. The exact date of their marriage wasn’t revealed.
Here’s Chen’s full handwritten letter (translated to English):
Hello, this is Chen.
I am writing this because I have something to tell our fans. I don’t know how to start this, and I’m very nervous. Although these words might not be much, I’m writing this because I want to tell this news to our fans who gave us so much love first with all honesty.
I have a girlfriend that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I was worried and concerned about what would happen as a result of this decision, but I had been discussing with the agency and our members because I wanted to announce the news at least a little bit earlier so that it wouldn’t come as a sudden surprise.
A blessing then came to our path. I feel taken aback for not being able to do things as planned with the agency and members, but this blessing has given me more strength.
I can’t lose any more time spent thinking about when or how I should announce this, so I gathered up my courage. I’m really grateful to my members for genuinely congratulating me after hearing this news, and I sincerely thank our fans for sending me so much undeserving love.
I will never forget this feeling of gratitude and I will do my best in my place without changing, along with returning the love that you have given me.
Thank you always.
And as Chen shares the news, SM Entertainment confirmed it through a statement released shortly after:
Hello. This is SM Entertainment.
Chen has met someone precious to him and will be getting married. The bride is a non-celebrity, and the wedding will be held privately with only their families in attendance.
To respect their families’ opinions, the wedding and everything related to it will be held privately, so we ask fans and reporters for their kind understanding.
Chen will continue to work hard as an artist. We ask you to send Chen lots of blessings and messages of celebration.
Thank you.
SM Entertainment also confirmed that his fiancée is also pregnant, and will keep all information regarding her fiancée’s pregnancy in private. -HallyuLife.com
