EXID‘s label Banana Culture Entertainment has finally released a statement regarding the 5-member girl group members’ contracts which are set to expire this May, revealing that the two members, Hani and Jeonghwa, decided to part ways with the agency they’ve been for seven years since debut in 2012, after a ‘lengthy’ discussion with their side.

On the other hand, members LE, Solji and Hyerin have chosen to renew their contracts with the agency, and according to the statement, the company plans to focus on their individual promotions for the time being.

Noting Solji’s exceptional vocal and LE’s producing and rap abilities, it says that they’re planning to prepare activities as solo artists, and Hyerin is thinking of various promotional activities to enhance her charming image.

“Hello, this is Banana Culture Entertainment. This is our official statement about EXID’s contracts.

Solji, LE, and Hyerin have chosen to renew their contracts with our label, while Hani and Jeonghwa have chosen to seek out new agencies in order to pursue their individual goals as of the end May, 2019, after a lengthy discussion with our side.

The three members who have chosen to renew with our company plan to focus on their individual promotions for the time being. Solji and LE each boast notable talents in their vocals, rap skills, and producing abilities, and so they plan to prepare activities as solo artists; Hyerin is thinking of various broadcast promotions as well as music activities to enhance her charming and multifaceted image.

EXID is a group not only meaningful to our company, but also to the fans; we are well aware of this, and so we do not intend to consider the group’s disbandment. The members also do not believe that this is a disbandment, but an opportunity to face new beginnings; they are also considering ways to continue promoting as a group again in the future.

We [Banana Culture] plan to put forth our best efforts as the bridge toward Solji, LE, and Hyerin’s successful and secure solo promotions, and we will not withhold any support so that the three members can continue to greet the public through numerous activities.

We also express our deep gratitude to Hani and Jeonghwa. Though their contracts are officially expiring, we sincerely wish them the best in their future endeavors.

We ask for your encouragement and support for the five members of EXID, who have new roads ahead. Thank you.

The agency iterated that while the two members have parted ways with them, they have agreed on to carry out all scheduled activities for EXID before searching for new agencies.

It was also announced that EXID will be releasing a new mini album on May 15, and will take an indefinite hiatus from team activities after completing broadcast promotions and performances in Korea and overseas following the album release. -HallyuLife.com
