MANILA ā Girls’ Generation member and actress Yuri (or Kwon Yuri) opened a new chapter with PH SONEs (Girls’ Generation’s fandom name) last Sunday, July 9 during her “Chapter 2” fan meeting tour at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City ā and it was all worth the years of wait for her fans.
Manila is her second stop on her 4-city fan meeting tour after Seoul, South Korea, and will be followed by Bangkok in Thailand, and Taipei in Taiwan.
Some of the fans may wonder why “Chapter 2” is the name of her fan meeting tour and according to Yuri, every SONE knows that her first album as a solo is called “The First Scene”. There is a track there titled “Chapter 2” and as she just approached the age of 30, she considers it as her new chapter in her life with her fans.
Yuri graced the night performing “Into You”, the title track from her debut solo album “The First Scene” which gained overwhelming cheers from her PH SONEs who waited for her precious return. She then performed American singer Ciara’s hit song “1,2, Step”, as well as back-to-back performances of Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG’s “Lil’ Touch’, and “Dessert” by her co-member DJ HYO or Hyoyeon.
To make it more intimate and special, Yuri interacted with her fans present only at the venue through a special open chat room where she showed them some behind-the-scenes stories photos and clips.
PH SONEs got to know Yuri more through the characters she portrayed in dramas such as Good Job, Bossam: Steal The Fate”, and “Invincible Youth”, movies like “Dolphin”, and variety/survival shows such as “The Zone: Survival Mission” and “My Teenage Girl”. She shared her Los Angeles trip with her fellow Girls’ Generation members Sooyoung and Tiffany as well as her family trip in Australia.
Yuri also shared that she receives a lot of messages from Philippine SONEs and got surprised by the energy and cheers from them. She even went to Boracay for work and expressed her desire to visit Bohol to do scuba diving. Yuri got her A game on as she tried eating local snacks and delivering Filipino tongue twisters.

Yuri expressed her gratitude to her fans who supported her on her journey as an idol and as an actress:
Thank you very much for coming here, leaving me a special memory and one great chapter in my life. I dedicated my Chapter 1, which is my youth chapter with you SONEs and I hope that with more chapters in my life, you stay by my side.
She also promised to return to the Philippines and hoped to meet more Filipino SONEs when she returns.
