Minzy’s first solo concert in Manila thrills fans, says “Philippines has always been her second home”

MANILA – Minzy (Gong Min-ji), a former 2NE1 member and solo artist recently gave her fans a unique party to remember as she kicks off her 1st Asia tour here last Saturday, June 4, at the New Frontier Theater. Filipino POS and BLACKJACKS were also hit by nostalgia as some hit songs from her former group, 2NE1, were also performed that night – and we’re here to tell you what went on.

Around 8PM local time, Minzy appeared on stage with all-out performances of her hit solo tracks “NINANO” and “Fantabulous” followed by a dance medley from the ‘dancing queen’ herself. She was welcomed by her fans in their sparkling outfits, all ready for tonight’s party.

Minzy was seemingly glad to meet her fans in Manila as she introduced herself with glee after her opening performance spree. She then told everyone to celebrate life, enjoy and make unforgettable memories together. Minzy brought us back to 2011 as she performed 2NE1’s hit track “I Am The Best”, which made everyone sing the whole song, jump to the beat, and dance with full energy. Truly one of the most remarkable tracks from the group.

She also showcased her powerful voice by singing her own version of GFRIEND’s “Me Gustas Tu” and the Tagalog version of “Lovely”, which turned the crowd to love her voice even more.


She also performed more of her solo tracks such as “TEAMO”, “Flashlight”, “ING”, “Beautiful Lie”, and her powerful track “Superwoman”, which empowers women in everything they do. She also sang a cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” to show her appreciation to her Filipino POS and BLACKJACKS present that night saying “Each of you here is PERFECT!”.

But the night was still young for her so she also brought us back to the 2nd generation performing 2NE1 tracks such as “HAPPY”, “I Don’t Care”, “Lonely”, and “I Love You”. In return, Filipino POS and BLACKJACKS showed her that 2NE1’s songs are still playing in each and everyone’s hearts and minds.

Just when Minzy was gonna have a group picture with her fans at the theater, a surprise video was played containing her pictures, interviews, and performances as a solo artist and as a member of 2NE1, which brought her to tears of joy. After that heartwarming video, Minzy expresses her gratitude and happiness seeing her fans sing and dance along with her full of passion. She also said:

Philippines has always been the second home for me. You guys are my family. I love you, mahal kita, mahal ko kayo!

Prior to their encore stage, Minzy sang “Come Back Home” as she also promised her Filipino fans that she will be returning to the Philippines as soon as possible because of the love and support she receives. The 1st stop of her Asia tour ended with an encore performance of “I Am The Best” (for the second time) and “Go Away”, which turned the concert into a full house party.
