(G)I-DLE drops English version of ‘LATATA’, and no one saw it coming

Are we getting more English songs from (G)I-DLE then?

After we reported about (G)I-DLE’s partnership with the American label Republic Records in April, it only came short before the product of the partnership, as (G)I-DLE has just dropped the English version of their debut song LATATA, in a surprise with no one seeing it coming.

While (G)I-DLE is no stranger already for English versions of their song (their latest title track Oh My God also has one), the release signals that the intention to penetrate the U.S. market and other English-speaking countries with K-pop is really serious.

K-pop is also no longer a stranger on English releases of their songs, with some groups such as Red Velvet, NCT 127, Monsta X and many more releasing full English versions of their songs ever since.

However, (G)I-DLE’s transition from being a Korea-based pop girl group to a global one only translates to the following – the group is positioned as a global girl group, ever since. -HallyuLife.com
