UPDATE: Weki Meki‘s Doyeon and Kim Min Kyu will work together on Playlist upcoming web drama ‘Pop Out Boy‘ which will air on June 25.
Pop Out Boy will be a romantic-fantasy web drama based on the hit webtoon ‘The Girl and The Boy Coming Out of Manga‘. It tells the story of a male character in the manga ‘Seon Nyeo and Nam Wook‘, who later pops-out in the real world and will encounter a high school student who happens to looks like the female character in the manga.
Weki Meki Doyeon will take the role of ‘Han Seon Nyeo‘, a high school student who has the same looks as the female character in the manga but has an opposite attitude. Kim Min Kyu, on the other hand, will take the role of ‘Chun Nam Wook‘, a manga male character in the manga ‘Seon Nyeo and Nam Wook’, who will pop-out in the real world and meet the high school student Han Seon Nyeo.
Joining them are Choi Hyun Wook who will take the role of ‘Noh Ye Jun‘, a close friend of Han Seon Nyeo. Han Ji Hyo will take the role of ‘Park Min Jung‘, a close friend of Seon Nyeo and Hyun Wook who wants to be a webtoon writer one day. And, Lim Bora will take the role of ‘Yoon Yina‘, the classmate of Seon Nyeo who changes her behavior as she meets Nam Wook.
This will be Kim Min Kyu’s first lead role and Weki Meki Doyeon’s third role on a drama after NAVER web drama ‘Idol Fever‘ in 2017 with Weki Meki Yoojung and OCN series ‘Short‘ in 2018.
Pop Out Boy will start streaming on Playlist Facebook, Youtube, and VLive channels on June 25 and MBC Drama on July 10. –HallyuLife.com
