BLACKPINK is killing the charts again with “Kill This Love”!

BLACKPINK just released their 2nd mini album “Kill This Love” with their title song of the same name on April 5th at 12am KST.

On February 8, YG himself responded to the fans regarding BLACKPINK’s comeback. He announced that the group will have a comeback by March or April with a 2nd mini album containing multiple songs. It will be a comeback in 9 months since the release of “DDU-DU-DDU-DU”.

Here’s the timeline of events from teaser photo releases to their performances:

On March 25, BLACKPINK released their first teaser image featuring Lisa (with her bangs in her hair) including the title track “Kill This Love” and the release date which will be on April 5th.

On March 26, Jennie is the next member on their second teaser image for their comeback. She is slaying on a blonde curly hair.

On March 27,  Jisoo is the next member on their 3rd teaser image for their comeback with her long red-orange hair look.

On March 28, Rosé completes the solo teaser images with a fierce look for their comeback.

On March 29, a day after all the members’ teaser images were revealed, they reveal their first group photo teaser for “Kill This Love”.

On April 1, BLACKPINK released their group teaser image including the tracks for their upcoming 2nd mini album. The album includes their title song “Kill This Love”, sub-title song “Don’t Know What To Do”, “Kick It”, Hope Not”, and a remix version of “DDU-DU-DDU-DU”.

On the same day, they also released 2 teaser videos featuring Lisa and Jennie.

On April 2, they released 2 more teaser videos featuring Jisoo and Rosé.

All individual teasers combined got a total of almost 32 million views on Youtube as of April 6.

On April 3, BLACKPINK dropped their mv teaser video of “Kill This Love” that got 29 million views as of April 6.

On April 4, BLACKPINK released the details of their physical album which will be available in black and pink versions on April 23.

On April 5th 12am KST, The music video of “Kill This Love” was finally released.

As of April 6, the music video already got 85 million views on Youtube. Also, they break the record for the fastest Kpop girl group mv to reach 10 to 80 million views on Youtube.

On April 6. BLACKPINK had their comeback performances of “Kill This Love” and “Don’t Know What To Do” on MBC’s Show! Music Core.

[UPDATE] As of April 7, the mv reached 100 million views.

As of April 7, the song “Kill This Love” really killed all the charts as they hit on top of realtime charts of all six major music sites: Melon (#2), Genie (#2), Bugs (#1), Mnet (#1), Naver (#1), Soribada (#1), and Flo (#3).

Also, No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs of 36 regions around the world. This includes the United States, Sweden, Portugal, Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, Turkey, Hong Kong, Russia, Thailand, and more. Their mini album “Kill This Love” took No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums charts in 31 regions.

BLACKPINK is now the first Korean girl group to achieve the feat of hitting No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in the United States.

On April 7, BLACKPINK performed the title and the sub-title track on SBS Ingkigayo.

BLACKPINK not only hit the charts but also the hearts of all Blinks around the world.
